Pickerington Road & Violet-1 Bridge Project Begins

    Lancaster, Ohio, June 14 -- Work on the Pickerington Road NW Improvement Project (CR 20) will begin on Monday, June 25^th, according to Fairfield County Engineer Frank W. Anderson. This project will include widening, resurfacing, and a profile correction on Pickerington Road NW and also the replacement of the Violet-1 bridge over Sycamore Creek. The area effected will be a 1.7 mile section of Pickerington Road NW between Refugee Road NW and State Route 204.

    The first phase of this project will be the replacement of driveway culverts within this area, which may cause temporary closures. Property owners will be notified in advance of these replacements. Pickerington Road NW will remain open during this phase, but motorists should expect delays. A second phase will involve replacement of the Violet-1 bridge which will require a scheduled closure of 120 days.  The entire project should be completed in approximately five months.
