Lithopolis Road to Get
New Railroad Grade Crossing
Lancaster, Ohio, September 9 -- The Indiana & Ohio Railroad
grade crossing on Lithopolis Road will get a new Tie and Asphalt surface
according to Fairfield County Engineer, Frank W. Anderson.
On Monday, September 11 , 2000: Lithopolis Road NW (CR 39) will be
closed approximately five days beginning 7:30 a.m. on that day for railroad
grade crossing replacement by the Indiana and Ohio Railroad. The area of closure
will be between Collins Road NW and Campground Road NW. (between House Number
3270 Lithopolis Road NW and Campground Road NW).
Anderson said the new surface will be much smoother than what
motorists are accustomed to at that location. There are more than 3,600
cars a day passing over this crossing.
The project is fully funded by the Indiana & Ohio Railroad. Annex Railroad Builders, Inc., a sub-contractor of Indiana & Ohio, will construct the crossing.
