The following road in Amanda Township will be closed for culvert replacements on dates and times shown according to County Engineer, Frank W. Anderson:

 

Royalton Road SW   (CR 45) will be closed for culvert replacement  from 7:00 a.m. on Monday, June 7th until Thursday, June 10th  at 3:30 p.m. The section of Royalton Road SW to be closed is between Cedar Hill Road SW and Amanda Northern Road SW  (between  House Numbers 9605 and 9195 on Royalton Road SW).  This is a four day closure.  This Road Closure was originally scheduled for June 1st  thru June 4th.

Bridge VIO-09 Replacement. Work may begin soon to replace the Center Street bridge (Bridge VIO-09) in Pickerington according to Fairfield County Engineer, Frank W. Anderson.  Anderson states that with successful completion of the utility relocation around the bridge area, the project may begin in approximately two weeks.

 

            Pickerington City Officials had originally requested the VIO-09 project not begin until after the Violet Festival in late July.  Pickerington City Officials now feel that ensuring the project�s completion before the start of the 2004-2005 school year is a higher public priority and have requested that the project start date be moved forward.

 

            The new bridge will be constructed by Shaw and Holter, Inc. of Lancaster, at a cost of $269,060.94.  The infrastructure of the current bridge has been rated as critical, and the bridge has a reduced load limit of 30 tons.  The bridge replacement project is expected to take approximately 8 weeks since all new abutments will be required.

Sugar Grove Road SE (CR 65) will be closed June 25th (one day) for culvert replacement for 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. between Firetower Road SE and Dupler Road SE, (between House Number 8345 and House Number 8365 on Sugar Grove Road SE).

ROAD CLOSURE- Bridge Replacement

The following road in the City of Lancaster will be closed for the replacement of Bridge BER-37 on dates/times shown according to County Engineer, Frank W. Anderson:

 

 

Tuesday,July 6, 2004: South Ewing Street in the City of Lancaster  will close at 7:00 a.m. the replacement of Bridge BER-37, over the Indiana Ohio Central Railroad spur.  South Ewing Street will remain closed for approximately 76 days. The area of closure will be between Walnut Street and Duffy Road SE.

 

The BER-37 Bridge Project is being jointly funded by the Fairfield County Engineer�s Office and with Federal Grant money administered by the Ohio Department of Transportation.  Shaw and Holter Inc., of Lancaster, Ohio, will perform construction work.

Fairfield County Engineer, Frank W. Anderson, announced today that work to replace the Center Street bridge (VIO-09) in Pickerington is once again scheduled to begin in late July, as originally announced and planned in coordination with the City of Pickerington and the Contractor. 

 

At the request of Pickerington City Officials and the Pickerington School System, Anderson attempted to move the start date of the project forward to assure completion of the bridge by the start of the 2004-2005 school-year.  Although utilities around  Bridge VIO-09 were successfully relocated, the concrete beams required for this bridge replacement will not be available until August, according to Ed Shaw, president of Shaw and Holter, Inc., the low bidder for this construction.

 

The new bridge will cost $269,060.94 and will require 8 weeks to be completed.  Deteriorating stone abutments and deck problems make the replacement of the Center Street bridge a necessary project.
