PRESS RELEASE (IMMEDIATE RELEASE)
The Fairfield County Engineer’s Office is announcing that the following road in BERNE TOWNSHIP and HOCKING TOWNSHIP will be closed for road repairs.
B.I.S. Road (CR90) will be closed Monday, November 2, 2009 from 7:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. daily for approximately five days. This closure will be between Ross Road and the Southeastern Correctional Institution between house numbers 3795 and 5300. Local traffic will be maintained; however, the public should expect delays.

The Fairfield County Engineer’s Office is announcing that the following road in BLOOM TOWNSHIP will be closed for road repairs.
Marcy Road (CR41) will be closed Monday, October 26, 2009 from 7:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. daily for three days. This closure will be between Heister Road and Rock Mill Road between house numbers 7824 and 7025. Local traffic will be maintained; however, the public should expect delays.
Marcy Road (CR41) will be closed Thursday, October 29, 2009 from 7:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. daily for two days. This closure will be between Amanda Northern Road and Cedar Hill Road between house numbers 10460 and 8770. Local traffic will be maintained; however, the public should expect delays.

Due to a contractor delay, the closure for the GRE-41 Bridge located on North Columbus Street in the City of Lancaster has been postponed until Monday, October 26, 2009. This closure will be between Whittier Drive and S. Arlington Avenue on N. Columbus Street between house numbers 1933 and 1928. North Columbus Street was scheduled to close Wednesday, October 23, 2009.

The closure for the GRE-41 Bridge located on North Columbus Street in the City of Lancaster has been postponed until Wednesday, October 21, 2009. This closure will be between Whittier Drive and S. Arlington Avenue on N. Columbus Street between house numbers 1933 and 1928. North Columbus Street was originally scheduled to close Monday, October 19, 2009.

The Fairfield County Engineer’s Office is announcing that the following road in GREENFIELD TOWNSHIP will be closed for a bridge replacement. According to Fairfield County Engineer, Frank W. Anderson:
North Columbus Street in the City of Lancaster will be closed for approximately 7 weeks beginning at 7:00 a.m. Monday, October 19, 2009, for the replacement of the GRE-41 Bridge. This closure will be between Whittier Drive and S. Arlington Avenue on N. Columbus Street between house numbers 1933 and 1928. Planning of this project began two years ago, and Fairfield County Engineer, Frank W. Anderson is pleased to announce that in 2009, $133,193 was awarded from the Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC) as partial funding towards this $194,615 project.
The OPWC provides grants and loans for local governments to build and maintain their infrastructure through the State Capital Improvement Program (SCIP) and the Local Transportation Improvement Program (LTIP). Roads, bridges, culverts, water supplies, wastewater systems, storm water collections and solid waste facilities are eligible for assistance. Local governments apply for funding through one of the nineteen District Public Works Integrating Committees in Ohio.
