LEGAL NOTICE

ADVERTISEMENT TO BIDDERS

 

            Sealed proposals will be received at the Office of the Fairfield County Engineer; 3026 West Fair Avenue; Lancaster, Ohio 43130, until 11:00 a.m. local time on Friday, August 21, 2009, for furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to complete the project known as GRE-41, N. Columbus Street over a Tributary of the Hocking River, City of Lancaster, Bridge Replacement Project, and at said time and place, publicly opened and read aloud.

            Contract documents, bid sheets, plans, and specifications can be obtained at said office for a non-refundable fee of $10.00 for half-size sets and $15.00 for full-size sets.

            Each bidder is required to furnish with its proposal a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond in accordance with Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code.  Bid security furnished in Bond form shall be issued by a Surety Company or Corporation licensed in the State of Ohio to provide said surety.

            Each Proposal must contain the full name of the party or parties submitting the proposal and all persons interested therein.  Each bidder must submit evidence of its experiences on projects of similar size and complexity.  All construction operations shall be completed within ten (10) consecutive weeks.  All construction operations shall be completed no later than December 4, 2009 if work begins in 2009.  All construction operations shall not commence prior to April 6, 2010 and must be completed no later, in any case than July 3, 2010 if work begins in 2010.

            All Contractors and Subcontractors involved with the project will, to the extent practicable, use Ohio products, materials, services, and labor in the implementation of their project.  Additionally, Contractor compliance with the Equal Employment Opportunity requirements of Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123, Governor’s Executive Order of 1972, and Governor’s Executive Order 84-9 shall be required.

            Bidders must comply with the Ohio Prevailing Wage Rates on this Public Improvement in Fairfield County, Ohio as determined by the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services, Wage and Hour Division, 614-644-2239.

            The Commissioners reserve the right to waive irregularities and to reject any or all bids.
